Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a specific method of psychotherapy that uses eye movements and other stimulation to enable people to heal from emotional distress. (New to EMDR? Learn more about what it is and how it works at EMDRIA.)

Does the past still feel like the present? Trauma can be anything that makes us feel helpless, alone, or overwhelmed—and it can manifest in our lives in many forms, be it a major one-time life event or part of a less-apparent ongoing pattern. Working towards healing and recovery from our trauma means developing healthy coping mechanisms—and better understanding the role that our trauma plays in our emotions, behavior, and thinking patterns.
EMDR treatment helps those I work with to ground themselves in the present, and recognize and alter the impact of what they have survived thus far in life.
