Couples Counseling
In my work with couples, I use the Gottman Method to help people in partnerships rebuild meaningful connections with each other and develop effective communication skills to both manage and resolve conflicts. Potential topics include setting boundaries with toxic family members, caring for an aging loved one, or experiencing empty nest syndrome. I also often work with folks who are part of the poly/kink community, and assist in processing aspects related to sex and intimacy issues in sessions.
Other areas often covered in couples counseling include:
-
Infidelity
-
Frustration with the same old arguments and the same old outcomes
-
Parenting and coparenting challenges
-
When separation and divorce are on the table
-
LGBTQIA+ issues such as gender exploration
-
Welcoming a new baby
-
Navigating in-law stressors
